Reviews Galore

Ok, now im only going to review games that i know about from first hand experience. If you give me a game title ill either get it and review it or research it and give you the results

First up: America's Army: Special Forces for the PC.

An absolutely great game. You play as a new US Army recruit, and you train to get different kinds of skill to weild new weapons and play on new maps, yet this great game has no single player mode excepting the training. It is free and everything, just go to the home page (www.americasarmy.com). It is 3D, very cool, basically it is a more realistic Halo without the Campagne feature. The training is required in order to play online, otherwise your not going to get to do much, all the maps are based off real places and you can read the history of why these maps were picked, plus the more training you complete the more maps and types of weapons you get to play and use. This game was made by America's Army itself. And it is a good one. I give it a 8/10. An exelent FPS.

Ok, Im not just a reviewer for the pc, I review all my games, so here is Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS

This game has the best graphics available for the DS so far. I love it, though it can get confusing sometimes and the gameplay will slow down, but it is very fun and the multiplayer is absolutely great with the new WiFi connection. It has great 3D graphics and a whole new crap load of weapons including a Sniper weapon (YAY). I am a Sniper in this game. And it is a wonderful time killer. I have played it total for more than 11 hours and I have only had it for 2 days. With the friend/rival options you can make games for people you know or people that you love trying to beat. In this game you play as the legendary Samus and are trying to keep the "Ultimate Power" from falling into the wrong hands. You fight 6 other Hunters in Campaign and after you've wooped their butts you can use them in Multiplayer, or you can just beat a person in Multiplayer who is using them and you get them. Great graphics, good story line, awesome multiplayer ops., 10/10 for the best DS game on the market.

Next im reviewing a mod of Halo for the PC that allows you to play custom maps that you can either download or create. It is called Halo CE. It takes a little bit longer to load but because it lets you play quite a few amazing maps and even some H2 maps, until H2 for Vista comes out, this is the best and closest thing to Halo 2 for the PC out there. So Id give it a try if you are an H2 fan like me.
Well this is a new thing that i found out about Halo CE. Not only can you download the awesome custom maps and mods etc. You can also download the single player maps. And by replacing the Ui.map in ur maps directory with a special one you can add the Campaigne option to your opening scrn. This new advancement in Halo CE is absolutely great seeing as now you can have a really much better version of Halo on ur pc. And because this game is not yet perfect i cannot give it a ten out of ten, i do think it is a much better game and i strongly recommend it for anyone who likes a challenging pc game combined with a good online experience. 9/10 !!!

Star Wars: Empire at War. Great RTS or the Greatest RTS. Hard questions but i know for sure that i love star wars games and i really like games with good graphics. So obviously I absolutely love this game. It doesn't really have a ton of strategy but its kinda hard to care when star destroyers are being blown to smitherines and the deathstar is taking out one of like, 30 planets. So please enjoy this wonderfully built star wars RTS from the Empire of LucasArts. 9/10. Whoop.

Ok, next up, Golden Eye: Rouge Agent for the Nintendo DS.

This game ,though the title sugests it is a sequel, acctually has nothing to do with the original title for the N64 if I understand it correctly. But its hard to care when the gameplay is so good. Now basically you play as a man trying out for 00 status and fails. So of course your player has to get his revenge. In this game you have the ability to not only duel wield but you can also take hostages. This is a pretty cool step for the 007 series. Now the objectives of each level are spelled out pretty clearly so I dont think I need to explain that. The whole game is 3-D and has pretty good programing of AI and maps. There are a lot of different abilities in this game that you do not hold in the other Golden Eye games. i.e. in this game you can use certain parts of the map for special kills and special objective completions. There is one problem though. The game gets hard pretty fast. And before you can beat the game, even on easy, there are weapons that the enemy possesess that kill you in one shot no matter how much armor you have on. So the Hard level is truely very hard. I have always loved 007 games and this one is a very good one at that. I give this game a 9/10

Ok, This is a game for the xbox very well known, acctually, By the name of Battlefield 2 Big Red One. To be honest I really did not enjoy this game. The game is directed to be realistic, however the phisics are not nearly as realistic, nor enjoyable as they were worked up to be. For instance, Many times enemies will spawn literally right in front of you. Not to mention that jumping is completely unrealistic. You jump about 3 inches in the air and thus cannot jump across a brick while you can easily walk around it. There is also the fact that the multiplayer play is highly limited. You can either play system link or xbox live. This means, you cant acctually play a friend on ur own console. So overall this games phisics and general multiplayer gameplay and singleplayer storyline could use nearly unlimited amounts of work, and thus I give this game an overall score of 4/10.

I am giving a special thanks out to ChickyLickFooFo for his input on this game.

Next up a MMORPG that has no regaurds for reality. This game is called City of Heros.

This is another absolutely amazing game. You create a Hero (or with the new City of Villains expansion a villain) and you complete missions with friends or by yourself. You start out with three powers, and the more missions you complete and more baddies you take down the more powers and accesories you get. This is a full 3D game and the only downside is that you have to either pay $30 a month or $120 a year if you pay for a year at a time. But it is worth it if you can afford it. I stopped playing because i couldn't afford it. The other thing i never liked about this game was the fact that you can't get a cape untill your character is level 21. This is not very cool. But the best thing about this game is that it's maps and baddies are being updated regularly. So thats why it costs sooooooo much. No one can beat the game entirely. But it is very fun and i recommend it for all you people who love a really good MMO. 7/10 for being too pricey and yet addictive.

And now: Halo: Combat Evolved for the PC.

This is a wonderful game and i really like the pc version because it has so many more hacks and glitches you can exploit. I for one am a glitcher. And i use that to my advantage.  This game has a Campagne feature where you battle the Covenant head on with no help. There is also a multiplayer feature which is very fun. This is a very Sci-Fi FPS. It is a wonderful experience. And for those of you who havn't heard, Bungie and Gearbox have announced that they are making a Halo 2 for Windows Vista. and I have been waiting for this for a very long time. So I hope you all have fun with this wonderful game. 9/10 for an exellent game.

Next up i am reviewing Battlefield Demo. This is a quality FPS. You play as either a soldier of the USMC army or MEC army. You move through the map with some unorthodox yet good controls. The gameplay is a combination of CTF and a Slayer type game you go through the map and try to capture as many flags while taking as many kills as possible. This has amazing graphics and quality vehicle rendering. I give this game a 8/10. Go get it for free if you like all ye gamers.

I know i havn't quite been up to date so without further ado, I present Super Mario Bros. for the DS.

Now this game is a remake of the original N64 game. And the backround is the same as in most 2-D Mario games. However, the AI and Mario are in 3-D. This is a pretty impressive mix and takes a while of getting used to. This game has a lot of shortcuts and thus the final boss can be beaten in a matter of days. On my first try it took me two days to complete the final world. And though it is a little more confusing when you dont know how to beat the rest of the game it gets a little bit harder. i.e. I beat world 8 in two days. But i skipped 3 worlds in the process and i have no idea how to even get to two of them. But anyways, because of the confusing way of getting to different worlds, beating the whole game can take a while but beating the final boss is pretty simple. Not much of a challenge on boss battles. So final grade on my account is... 7/10

Ok, i just discovered this absolutely great game. Its called Knight Online. Its a Free2Play MMORPG. You know i have voiced my love for COH. However, This game isn't based on, super powers though u can get some. This game has more limited character design but it has unlimited leveling which allows for longer game time. Unlike in COH, when you buy an item to attach to your character, it acctually changes your appearance. And once you figure out speech controls, its a truely amazing game to be a part of. I give Knight Online a 9/10. The only reason its not ten out of ten is that the buddy tracker and speech controls are a little confusing.

Well, this next title im kind of reluctant about posting yet. I havn't played the game myself but I have seen the graphics and seen the control scheme. Well, here it is. Starfox Command for the NDS. This game has an odd control scheme in that you cannot use the dpad and a,b,x,y controls, you can only use the touch screen and you can only change weather the y axis is inverted or not. However, once you get past that you will notice the amazing graphics on the ingame play. Now while starting up the game there is no cutscene playing about the story line but hey, not every game is perfect. Next is that The Single Player mode is supposedly much more in depth than the MP mode. The reasons given to me are that the MP can use a lot of work and over all feel as if the programmers did not spend much time working on the MP. For an odd control setup, an amazing account of graphics, a great SP mode, and a workable MP mode, Starfox Command earns a 8/10.

My decisions on this game were not just based on my own experience, and thus heres a thanks to DragonSage for his input on this game.
